Mourning

January 15, 2010 by Mary Jane 6 Comments

Discontinued colors. All of them, including some dear old friends. I weep.

Jamieson & Smith have reduced their range to 80 colors…you’d think that would be enough. Spoiled. I was spoiled!

You know what they say, “keep calm and cast on”.

Update: as Anne mentioned in the comments Jamieson’s still has close to 200 colors, so between the 2 of them we should all be ok.

The real mourning is for the people of Haiti- Doctors Without Borders, you can specify Haiti for your donation.

There is still room in Introduction to Stranded Colorwork….aka…Fair Isle Knitting!

No experience necessary. Quash your fears! The world of color is yours!

NewYear

I had an idea when I posted this….and then…being away from the internet unexpectedly, and for so long, I came upon thousands…and I mean thousands of spam comments. It was nice for a moment to feel so popular when I saw 1000 comments alone on my Twist Collective post. However, the comments themselves were mostly pharmaceutical, occasionally Russian and at best mundane, except for the alarming, BABY LUNGS, or the mildly amusing GIRLS SMOKING CIGARS. So I deleted them all. Which took some time. And I’m afraid a few good old friend’s real comments were lost too, I hope not.

So whatever was in my head to post is no longer.

Maybe if we whisper the spam won’t return.

I’ll just crunch out to the wood pile and throw another log onto the fire.

cheers!
