I had an idea when I posted this….and then…being away from the internet unexpectedly, and for so long, I came upon thousands…and I mean thousands of spam comments. It was nice for a moment to feel so popular when I saw 1000 comments alone on my Twist Collective post. However, the comments themselves were mostly pharmaceutical, occasionally Russian and at best mundane, except for the alarming, BABY LUNGS, or the mildly amusing GIRLS SMOKING CIGARS. So I deleted them all. Which took some time. And I’m afraid a few good old friend’s real comments were lost too, I hope not.
So whatever was in my head to post is no longer.
Maybe if we whisper the spam won’t return.
I’ll just crunch out to the wood pile and throw another log onto the fire.
cheers!

Mary Jane, thank you for your lovely comments on my blog. I can’t believe you even read me.So sorry you had the spam issue, what a waste of time and effort. The piece of lace behind your yarn and needles is beautiful. Can’t wait to see what the lace becomes.

Spam and knitting are a bad combination.
Don’t worry about the Mog vote, it might have counted the votes for december and are now counting the january ones separately. I don’t think I will win. Last time I looked an animal sanctuary blog was in the lead, although I was quite close. Damn those cute animals!

Eeeuuuuww! I’ve been having some creepy pornographic spam comments too — in Japanese! I had to start using Haloscan and it seems to be working — knock wood.
Are those pillowcase edgings you’re making with that lovely white yarn?
Blessings,
G

A lovely skein of white will surely purify the spammers. If not, you can skewer them with pink needles.

what are you making???
And I’ve been getting spam via my website. I can’t figure out how to add a code so the crazies can’t email me.
