Fair Isle Baby Hat : Squam Edition

June 17, 2011 by Mary Jane 4 Comments

New in the shop and on Ravelry – Fair Isle Baby Hat: Squam Edition. In two colorways, you’ll have to scroll down to see the blue version. I used Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift, but Elemental Affects, Jamieson & Smith and Harrisville American Shetland work nicely too. You could even use Dale Baby Ull. I’ve included all the yarn amounts, because it is also a perfect stash buster. Plus, there are two charts you can color yourself to make your own custom hat. Sweet and simple, perfect for your first Fair Isle project, just ask my students!

Monday will be the giveaway for the Vogue Knitting Live in LA, marketplace ticket, so pop on back.

Also coming up, a visit to Penobscot Shores Campground, the site of Fiber College of Maine, where I’m Artist in Residence this year, make sure you “like” them on facebook!

Meanwhile…swatching madly…and secretly!

That hat is lovely – and I think it would be gorgeous in the Jamieson’s Ultra lace weight too!!

Thanks again for a terrific class, MJ! I’m going to tackle a fair-isle jumper later this year.

(Or…HINT HINT, haha…if you ever get that pattern ready for the Rhinebeck vest…!)
