I’ve got a new pattern out, and I’m as surprised as you! What with my whirlwind summer, I almost forgot about this darling tam. Knit Picks has an independent designer program, and when they asked me to contribute I agreed. For one, they are the nicest people, I met them last winter when I was visiting out west, a cheerful and lively bunch, always generous with their yarn support too. My reasoning continues with the Target and H&M analogy, both have visiting designers and design houses contribute affordable fashion for the masses, take this summer, Liberty of London for Target and Sonia Rykiel for H&M. So, to the masses a big hello!
My Castaway Tam was inspired by late summer island picnics in Maine. A casual comfy hat to bring along, donning just as the sun goes down and there’s a slight chill in the air.
Find the pattern here at Knit Picks or here on Ravelry.
We just went on a especially fun picnic, where we collected the mother-load of sea urchin shells, and I taught two French teenagers how to knit!
