Mary Jane Mucklestone

Hand Knitting Blog & Knitting Patterns

Thankful Giveaway!

November 24, 2014 by Mary Jane

GiveAwayDuo

What started as a kind of random photo on my Facebook Page, developed into a lively conversation.  I’ve knit one Camden Cowl and find it so useful I was thinking of knitting another since I’ve got such pretty colors of Swan’s Island Organic Washable DK. So I put it out there. What colors should I choose next? The results were surprising to me – one clear winner, a sort of odd one,  5 votes for orange and ice blue. Odd but pretty. The rest were mixed bag – all across the board – almost every variation – including several people who wanted to use more than just two. I think that’s a brilliant idea!

I am especially thankful this year for all my wonderful, supportive friends. When I was feeling low, my friends were there with a kind word, or a simple gesture that kept me from sinking lower. Sweet words in my Ravelry group, eager students in my Craftsy class, “likes” on my Instagram pictures, teaching event attendees who came up to talk to me and share a story, all together kept me afloat this year. Wherever I went all over the world, new friends invited me into their shops, on hiking adventures and even into their homes with open hearts. I thank you my friends,  I thank you so very much!

Three lucky winners take their pick of two colors from the group above. Just leave a comment with your favorite two. Maybe tell us what grabbed you about the colors and anything else you’d like to share. I’ll randomly choose 3 winners. Now of course, I only have one skein of each color, so, the first draw will eliminate 2 colors. If the second draw includes either of those two colors I’ll draw again until I get a duo that can be pulled the remaining colors…the third winner will be randomly drawn from those who chose the final two as their first choice.

The giveaway is open through Wednesday November 26 until midnight Pacific Standard Time.

I’ll announce the winners on Thanksgiving (Thursday the 27th), and I’ll throw in a free Camden Cowl pattern too!

Camden Cowl uses 1 skein each of two colors of
Swan’s Island Washable Wool 50g/140 yds(128m)
The colors above are left to right:
Eucalyptus, Wedgewood, Cayenne, Sienna, Pumpkin and Snowy Owl

The originals are Aubergine and Pesto.

Needles:  US5(3.75mm) & US6(4.0mm) 16″(40cm)  circular.

The Comments are closed. Thanks Everyone! Happy Thanksgiving!
