The houses on the Greek Isles tend to be whitewashed - a kind of insurance against the oppressive Mediterranean heat. But some of these white houses have doors painted in brilliant blue - an emotional homage to the beauty of the surrounding sea & sky. I've seen these colors frequently translated into intricately designed sweaters & textiles offered to the (more fortunate & discerning) tourist. I realize that your pretty socks are more Norwegian than Greek in design, but they're giving me major nostalgia for the 'old country'! Beautiful!
