Hey!
I’m Mary Jane, and I love knitting, especially with lots of colors.
Specializing in stranded knitting, I love learning about the traditions behind the discipline, especially Fair Isle, Scandinavian, and closer to home, Maine and the Maritime Provinces of Canada.
I travel worldwide, connecting with our fiber community by teaching handknitting classes and learning about the knitting happening in each place. Sharing my knitting knowledge is a joy, and learning new things is my passion. My goal is for my students to have fun while learning new skills. Working one-on-one with my students, I aim to give them the courage to try something new.
Learn more about my designs by visiting my Ravelry page.
I have written five books: 200 Fair Isle Motifs, 150 Scandinavian Motifs, Fair Isle Style, Geo Knits, and my newest book Fair Isle Weekend (now an ebook).
Fall 2023 will see the release of my sixth book, co-authored with my good friend, designer Gudrun Johnston. I can’t wait to tell you more!
Learn about them on my Books page.
Check out my Classes page to see when and where I’ll be teaching next. I’ve also got online classes with KnitStars 3.0 and Craftsy.

Don’t be a stranger; stop by and say “hi.”
Happy Knitting!
